Per Fly's Danish drama Inheritance was awarded the main NDR Promotion Prize of Euro12,500 at the 45th Nordic Film Days in Lubeck, the world's largest showcase of Nordic and Baltic cinema.

Norwegian films dominated all other categories. The audience award from Lubecker Nachrichten went to Gunnar Vikene's feature debut Falling Sky, while Peder Norlund's Wolf Summer was singled out by the Children's Jury.

Elsa Kvamme's newly released family film Fia! took both the German Video Industry's and the Nordic Film Institute's Children's Film Prize, while the Baltic Film Prize went to Bent Hamer's Kitchen Stories.

The only prize for the Finns this year went to Aleksi Makela's box-office sensation Bad Boys, which took the Interfilm Church Prize, while IG-Metall's Documentary Award went to Soeren Lindbjerg's Danish film Only A German.

German distributor Stefan Paul of Arsenal Filmverleih expects to release Kitchen Stories in February 2004 and Inheritance in March, both on some 50-60 prints.
