Carlo Verdone directs recession-themed comedy.
On the eve of Cannes, Rome-based sales company Intramovies has picked up international sales rights on A Flat For Three, Carlo Verdone’s new comedy set against the backcloth of the global recession. The film stars actor/director Verdone and Pierfrancesco Favino.
Divorce has plunged Domenico, Ulisse and Fulvio into serious economic problem: The three men meet for the first time when - looking for a place to stay - they converge on a flat that none of them can afford on a single budget. But under the same roof land also every possible problem each of them has with ex wives, young or grown-up children and capricious new partners. This tragicomic and unusual ‘menage à trois’ will have a disastrous if amusing outcome.
The film came to Intra from Aurelio de Laurentiis. Screening in the market here in Cannes, the film was released in Italy by Filmauro in March.
Other titles on Intra’s Cannes slate include Davide Marengo’s The Lithium Conspiracy, Fausto Brizzi’s Love Is In The Air, Davide Manuli’s The Legend Of Kaspar Hauser and Roan Johnson’s The First On The List.
