Fulvio Lucisano's Italian International Film (IIF) has snapped up Italian distribution rights to Michelle Yeoh's upcoming martial arts vehicle, Silver Hawk.

Sold by Hong Kong's Han Entertainment through Arclight Films, the $15m action movie tells the story of an elegant lady who becomes a skilful fighter when disguised as Silver Hawk.

The film, directed by Jingle Ma, stars Michelle Yeoh, who also produced the picture through her company, Mythical Films. Silver Hawk is scheduled for release in Hong Kong in December. The picture has already been pre-bought by Media Asia for Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore.

IIF is the distributor behind current Italian crowd-pleaser La Mia Vita A Stelle E Striscie by Massimo Ceccherini, which has earned $1.2m three weeks after its release.

Industry veteran Lucisano's IIF is also the production outfit behind Nel Mio Amore, a film that marks the directorial debut of Italian novelist Susanna Tamaro and is currently in production.
