The Aviator soared to the top of the Italian box office on itsopening weekend, on the back of its freshly announced 11 Oscar nominations.
The Leonardo Di Capriovehicle earned $2,759,240 for 01 Distribution from 438 screens, registering astrong average of $6,300 per screen.
At the same time, WarnerBros's Alexander, currently playing on a wide 372 screens, shed a big56% of its earnings on its third weekend, dropping into second place with atotal gross of $9,581,181.
Nexo's The Woodsmanopened on just 49 screens but performed well, earning $175,020 for a healthyscreen average of $3,572.
Meanwhile, Eagle Pictures'horror flick Saw maintained its third position, scoring the weekend'ssecond highest per screen average behind The Aviator.
