Jean Perret, director of Visions du Reel - Nyon International Film Festival since its inception in 1995, is leaving in August.

He has been appointed as head of the film department at the University for Art & Design (HEAD) in Geneva. The festival is currently seeking a replacement and hopes to make an announcement later in the spring.

Before joining the festival, Perret was the delegate general for the Critics’ Week sidebar at Locarno International Film Festival for four years.

Perret’s final outing as festival director will include two workshops staged with filmmakers Alain Berliner and Wu Wenguang. This edition runs April 15 – 21.
