New titles include Ghett’A Life

UK-based sales company Jinga Films is building its slate coming into Cannes.

Jinga’s new films include Ghett’A Life, directed by Chris Browne, about a young boxer in Jamaica. Jinga’s Rosana Coutinho said: “Despite the urban violence, it has a big heart and delivers a feel-good ending.”

Meanwhile, Jinga has also taken on thriller Rabies directed by Ahron Keshales and Navot Papushado; and Quinn Saunder’s psycho-sexual thriller Cherry.

Another new pick-up is Gandu, directed by Kaushik Mukherjee, a portrait of a drug addicted rapper in Kolkata. This will be represented by the Jinga’s new extreme films UXB label as will Jinga’s new extreme horror thriller Bunny Game, about a trucker brutalising a prostitute.

Jinga’s other titles returning to the market include A Serbian Film, German erotic thriller Bedways (now sold by the UXB label), and 3D thriller Iron Doors.

Also, on the eve of the Cannes, Jinga closed a UK deal on futuristic romantic comedy Timer with Lionsgate.
