Jose Martinez Jr has been promoted to executive vice president of Maya Entertainment, the Los Angeles-based vertically integrated company targeting the growing US Latino market.

Since joining Maya Entertainment a year ago as general counsel and
head of acquisitions, Martinez has led company efforts to acquire such
notable films as How The Garcia Girls Spent Their Summer starring
America Ferrera, Maldeamores produced by Benicio del Toro, August
Evening,
and Sleep Dealer.

As executive vice president, Martinez is charged with overseeing all
company operations, specifically TV and foreign sales, acquisitions,
and business affairs. He will also supervise the integration of Maya's
various departments, which include Maya Cinemas, Maya Releasing, Maya Entertainment Home Video, and Maya Productions.

'We have seen a tremendous amount of growth since we launched a year ago,' Moctesuma Esparza, who founded Maya Entertainment and co-chairs with Jeff Valdez, said. 'Jose brings the level of experience and
