The star of global hit The Hunger Games (pictured, far right) will collect the honour at the annual Las Vegas convention’s awards ceremony on Apr 26.

“With an already impressive resume of films under his belt, Hutcherson is one of the most accomplished young actors of his time,” CinemaCon managing director Mitch Neuhauser said. “With the release of The Hunger Games, Hutcherson is poised to take the movie world by storm, and we could not be more excited to present such a talented young actor with the CinemaCon Breakthrough Performer of the Year Award.” 

Hutcherson’s credits include Journey 2: Mysterious Island, The Kids Are All Right, The Polar Express and the upcoming Red Dawn remake.

  • Neuhauser said on Tuesday (27) that CinemaCon attendee Warner Bros will showcase its upcoming summer releases Dark Shadows, Rock Of Ages and The Dark Knight Returns.
