Prolific British filmmaker Julian Richards, whopreviously directed The Last Horror Movie, has completed the financing of hislatest project.

Summer Scars, Richards'sfourth feature, is billed as "a dark psychological thriller about a gang ofschool truants held hostage in the woods by a psychopath."

Kevin Howarth (who also played in The Last HorrorMovie) will star. The feature, with a budget under $1m, hasbeen financed by the Arts Council of Wales, Little Wing Films, ITV Wales andMTN-Movies.

International distribution is being handled byRichards's new sales outfit, Jinga Films.

The film will be ready in time for the AFM.

As part of its first Cannes slate, Jinga has beenscreening Craig Strachan's werewolf horror Wild Country.

Other titles on the company's inaugural slate includea "director's cut" of Richards's debut feature Darklands and The Last Horror Movie, onwhich Jinga has closed deals with No Shame in Italy, Videosonic in Greece andFilm Entertainment Group in Benelux.
