London-based Kaleidoscope Entertainment has picked up UK rights to zombie movie Colin, which was made for a mere $74.
Colin was directed by Marc Price, a Welsh 30 year old who used a camcorder to shoot the film. Price also wrote and produced the film.
Kaleidoscope picked up the film after it screened in Cannes market earlier this year. A theatrical release is planned and the film is expected to go out on six prints in London and in other UK cities in time for Halloween.
Helen Grace of Left Films is handling sales of the film and negotiated the deal with Kaleidoscope.
Price said: “A lot of low budget film-makers have been under the impression that they need to spend lots of money on their projects. They are now really enthusiastic about the fact that it’s possible to make a film without bankrupting themselves.”
