Korea’s CJ Entertainment has closed a batch of sales on Park Chan-wook’s competition title Thirst and Bong Joon-ho’s Mother, which screened in Un Certain Regard.
Spain’s Lola Film has sucked up vampire drama Thirst, which has also gone to Avsar Film for Turkey, Discovery for ex-Yugoslavia, Edko Films for Hong Kong and Paris Filmes for Brazil.
Bong’s Mother, one of the hottest films in the market, also went to Discovery and Edko Films, along with CatchPlay for Taiwan and Eco Film for Portugal. CJ expects to close more deals on the film following last night’s market screening. It was previously sold to France’s Diaphana and Bitters End for Japan.
CJ also sealed a trio of sales on disaster movie Haeundae to the UK’s Optimum, Germany’s Splendid and Edko Films for Hong Kong. Romantic drama Castaway On The Moon went to Turkey’s Horizon International and Flash Forward for Taiwan. Horizon also picked up crime thriller Private Eye.
