Hundstage, the debut film by Austrian director Ulrich Seidl which sharply divided critics at the Venice film festival, has proved a hot seller for producer and sales agent The Co-Production Office.
The picture was sold to Mikado for Italy, Les Films Seville for Canada, Film Museum for The Netherlands, Filmladen for Austria and Inter Cine Agency for Russia. Co-Production boss Philippe Bober expects to close deals for the UK, France and Germany soon. He said he also had strong interest from the US.
The UK's Momentum Pictures (formerly Alliance Atlantis Releasing) has bought Silvio Sordi's Italina comedy Bread And Tulips (Pane E Tulipani) from Adriana Chiesa Enterprises. The film which was a massive hit across Europe and first screened in the UK as long ago as last year's London Film Festival, has now been sold to every major territory in the world apart from Sweden.
