Paris-based Doc & Film International has closed further sales on the Cesar-nominated documentary La Danse,The Paris Opera Ballet.
Having sold over 100,000 tickets in France via Sophie Dulac Distribution and with a $500,000 box-office take in the US (via Zipporah Films), the Frederick Wiseman-directed film has been sold in Sweden (Folkets Bio), the UK (Soda Pictures), Benelux (Cinemien), Australia & New Zealand (Madman) and Switzerland (Xenix) with several other territories in negotiation.
In Berlin, Doc & Film is also selling, in association with Dissidenz International, Koki Wakamatsu’s competition entry Caterpillar.
Other films on the Doc & Film line-up include Le Mariage A Trois by Jacques Doillon and starring Louis Garrell and Julie Depardieu; Beyond The Steppes from director Vanja d’Alcantarra about a woman’s forced journey to the steppes of Central Asia, and Marion Hansel’s Black Ocean a look at the struggles of a French naval ship crew involved in nuclear tests in French Polynesia in 1974.
