Mathieu Amalric’s On Tour, which won Best Director and Fipresci awards after its Cannes competition screenings last month, has now been sold to a host of international buyers.
Paris-based Le Pacte International has announced that On Tour has now gone to Benelux (Victory), Switzerland (Agora), Greece (Feel Good), Portugal (Clap Filmes), CIS & Baltic States (Maywin), Finland (Cinema Mondo), Romania (Independenta), Hungary (Szuez Film), former Yugoslavia (MCF), Canada (Funfilm), Brazil (Imovision), and Taïwan (Hiatus). Meanwhile, Le Pacte’s Head of International Sales Elisabeth Perlie has confirmed that deals are also in the offing in major territories like US, UK, and Italy.
“Distributors have shown a real enthusiasm and support for the film, and sales have been very good, and are still going on,” Perlie said.
Mathieu Amalric stars in as well as directs On Tour, which is about a shambling producer taking a troupe of burlesque performers on a tour of provincial France.
Le Pacte International has also reported strong buyer interest in documentary Just A Beginning by Jean-Pierre Pozzi and Pierre Barrougier. Negotiations are are underway in several countries. The film (which follows a nursery school class over a period of two years as the very young kids study philosophy) has already been sold to Phantom Film in Japan, Madman in Australia and Hiatus in Taiwan.
