LevelK has taken on sales for Zaida Bergroth’s psychological drama The Good Son, which will premiere in Toronto.
Misha Jaari, Mark Lwoff and Elli Toivoniemi produced for Finland’s Oy Bufo Ab.
Bergtroth also wrote the film, her second feature after Last Cowboy Standing.
The Good Son is described as “an intense ensemble film about an eccentric family and their dangerous loves.” The story follows a family going to their old summer villa, when a new friend outstays his welcome.
Tine Klint, Director of LevelK, said: “We are very happy to sign this proven female director into our directors stable Future Classics, as we believe she will continue to create strong films that will make an impression on the film landscape worldwide. Zaida’s future is bright and we look forward to our ongoing co-operation with her and Bufo Film.”
The production was supported by The Finish Film Foundation and YLE.
Buena Vista International Finland will distribute locally.
