Danish sales company LevelK has struck a deal with Red Lamp Films to handle international sales of The Rocket, which will world premiere at the Berlinale.
The story follows a boy who thinks he has bad luck trying to travel across Laos to build a giant rocket to win a competition. The film was shot in Laos and Thailand. Sitthiphon “Ki” Disamoe leads the cast.
The film is written and directed by first time feature film director Kim Mordaunt. Producers are Sylvia Wilczynski for Red Lamp Films Australia with Laos-based associate producer Pauline Phayvanh Phoumindr.
The Rocket is supported by Screen Australia, Screen New South Wales and Curious Film, who will handle local distribution.
