UK distributor Liberation Entertainment has acquired UK rights to thriller Daylight Robbery from sales company AV Pictures.
AV has also sold the film for Australasia (All Interactive), Benelux (European Film Partners), Brazil (PlayArte), CIS (Lizard), France (Swift Prods), Japan (New Select), Poland (Carisma), Thailand (J-Bics) and Turkey (Horizon International).
Gavin Braxton, CEO of AV, said: 'We are delighted to have closed our first deal with Liberation, a young and dynamic distribution outfit.'
The deal was done with Liberation Entertainment MD Spencer Pollard. He said: 'We are delighted to announce the addition of Daylight Robbery to our slate of feature films for 2008. It is a well targeted feature film, perfect for the UK market.'
Paris Leonti wrote and directed. The story is about a group of football-loving friends with a plot to rob a London bank, but the story turns darker when one of the team is injured during the heist.
The ensemble cast features Geoff Bell, Johnny Harris, Leo Gregory, and Vas Blackwood. Nick O'Hagen produced for Giant Films.
Liberation is the new distributor based in Los Angeles and London, founded by Jay Boberg. Its other UK releases include Wristcutters: A Love Story and Extraordinary Rendition.
