EXCLUSIVE: SC Films has already sold to Germany, France, Japan and other territories.
Lionsgate UK has taken all UK rights to thriller Tower Block from Simon Crowe’s SC Films.
Ronnie Thompson and James Nunn co-direct the film, which stars Sheridan Smith, Jack O’Connell, Ralph Brown and Russell Tovey.
Other territorires sold include Germany (Universum), France (Swift), Japan (Nettai Museum), Korea (Apex), Greece (Odeon), Portugal (Zon Lusoumndo), and Middle East (ECS).
The story, written by James Moran (Cockneys Vs Zombies) is about twelve tenants trapped in a condemned building with a sniper.
Producers are The Tea Shop and Film Company (Cockneys Vs Zombies) and Suki Dulai (Screwed).
Ronnie Thompson said, “I instantly knew that Tower Block was something I could creatively work with. The script had potential to touch base on some tough social issues, whilst still being a fast paced thriller which would thoroughly entertain. SC’s Cannes slate includes A Liars Autobiography about Monty Python’s Graham Chapman; action genre title Cockneys Vs Zombies, ghost story When The Lights Went Out, and 3D animation Outback.
