Locarno Film Festival’s co-production lab Open Doors is to launch a new initiative entitled Carte Blanche from this August.
The new platform will showcase works currently in postproduction from a particular country. It will kick-off in 2011 with the spotlight on films from Colombia.
In cooperation with the film promotion agency Proimagenes Colombia and Locarno’s Industry Office, the first edition of Carte Blanche will present 5-8 films in postproduction. The projects‘ producers will be in Locarno to introduce their films in person to the sales agents and buyers assembled for the Industry Days on the festival’s first weekend.
Last week, Open Doors announced that it had selected 12 projects by Indian filmmakers from over 200 submissions for this year’s edition of the co-production lab.
