The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring became the biggest grossing film of all time in Denmark over the weekend, dethroning four-year leader Titanic.

Still playing well in the Scandinavian territory Rings took $17,639 (DKr 147,533) over the three-day weekend (April 19-21), bringing its total gross to $11.01m (DKr 92.1m). This just tipped the fantasy adventure past Titanic's standing record total Danish gross of $10.999m (DKr92m), set in 1998.

The first part of Peter Jackson's trilogy has now grossed $830m worldwide and ranks fifth in the chart of all time box office earners, behind Titanic ($1,835.4m), Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone ($958.2), Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace ($925.5m) and Jurassic Park ($920.1m).
