Edward Zwick’s Love & Other Drugs will open the AFI FEST 2010 in Los Angeles on November 4 and Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan will close the event a week later.
The romantic comedy Love & Other Drugs stars Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal and Fox will release it on November 24.
Aronofsky’s psycho-thriller Black Swan (pictured) is set to open through Fox Searchlight on December 1 and premiered recently at Venice and Toronto. Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis star.
“As alumni of the AFI Conservatory, both men symbolise a perfect fusion of the Institute’s national mandate to educate the next generation of storytellers and to honour the artists and their work,” American Film Institute president and CEO Bob Gazzale said.
David Lynch serves as the festival’s guest artistic director. The event is scheduled to run from November 4-11.
