The service promises to offer the world’s largest online collection of African film content.
Multi channel Pan African content provider M-Net is launching a video on demand service collection of African film content.
Managed by digital TV service Dstv Online, The African Film Library already has 110 titles, which users can download or rent.
Following the initial launch the catalogue will expand to include around 700 titles. The AFL is hoping to deliver a new digital source of revenue for catalogue content and filmmakers in Africa.
Mike Dearham, head of sales & library at M-Net says:“We have been working on building and developing the AFL for three years, and to now see our labour of love launch to the world feels incredible.”
