Madman Entertainment has acquired Australian and New Zealand rights from Cinema Management Group (CMG) to the Chris Rock documentary Good Hair.
CMG chief Ed Noeltner brokered the deal on Monday with Madman managing director Paul Wiegard before the start of AFM.
In Good Hair, Rock explores the culture of African-American hairstyles. Jeff Stilson directed the film, which has grossed more than $3.5m in less than one month in North American theatres through Liddell Entertainment and Roadside Attractions.
Noeltner said he was drawing strong interest from buyers and is also commencing sales on horror film The Collector. Both films screen at AFM today [November 4] and tomorrow.
