Magnet Releasing has acquired US rights to Sahamongkolfilm International’s martial arts epic Ong Bak 3.

The company released Ong Bak 2 and parent Magnolia distributed the first in the series directed, written by and starring Tony Jaa.

The third episode ramps up the supernatural element as Jaa’s character battles Demon Crow played by fellow martial arts sensation Dan Chupong.

Magnet will release Ong Bak 3 in theaters In January 2011 after senior vice-president Tom Quinn brokered the deal with Sahamongkolfilm International’s Gilbert Lim.
