For the 39th Hungarian Film Week (Jan 29-Feb 5, 2008), Romanian actress Maia Morgenstern will chair the jury.
The jury is also comprised of FIPRESCI general secretary Klaus Eder, director Krisztina Goda, cinematographer Janos Kende and theatre director Istvan Marta.
The Budapest-based event will for the second year let the international jury select feature film prizes.
Local film-makers have entered 30 features in competition and 12 out of competition, and a pre-selection committee will select about 16-18 titles to compete for the Golden Reel. Those selections will be announced in early January.
The first two days of Hungarian Film Week are devoted to documentaries, with 188 features and 136 shorts submitted.
The festival will be held in Mammut multiplex and the Millennium Center in the heart of Budapest. As in the previous years, the first two days of the festival will be devoted to the documentary production. Altogether 188 non-fictions and 136 shorts have been entered.
Also, foreign critics will hand out the Week's Gene Moskowitz Award.
