The Slovenian Film Fund announced today that the country’s submission for the best Foreign Language film Academy Award is Igor Sterk’s 9:06.
The film tells the story of a police inspector who investigates an unusual case. As his investigation turns into an obsession, the policeman gradually assumes the identity of the deceased man.
Co-produced by Slovenia’s AAC Productions and Gustav Film, Slovenian Broadcasting Corporation and ZDF/ARTE, 9:06 won 11 awards at the national festival in Portoroz last year, including best film, director, actor in a leading role and script. Recently Sterk won the best director award at the Alexandria Film Festival.
