Sony Pictures Releasing International’s (SPRI) family hit looks odds-on to reign at the box office this weekend. Meanwhile Cars 2 has crossed $300m, Pirates 4 $800m and Bridesmaids $100m while the Harry Potter finale is poised to cross $900m.
Heading into the session The Smurfs stood at $143.2m as of Aug 14 and is primed to take off in approximately nine markets including Poland.
SPRI’s Bad Teacher stood at $94.2m as of Aug 14 and opens in Brazil, among others, while Friends With Benefits on more than $9.6m arrives in Australia. Zookeeper was on $56.6m as of Aug 14 and opens in France and French-speaking Switzerland
Fox International’s Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes has grossed $76.4m and opens in nine, among them South Korea, Argentina and Sweden.
Mr Popper’s Penguins debuts in New Zealand and Belgium and has grossed $90.6m, while Glee: The 3D Concert Movie opens in the UK.
Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 should cross $900m this weekend and stands at $882m through Warner Bros Pictures International, which announced last night [18] it had crossed $2bn for the year-to-date.

Universal’s Bridesmaids on $100.9m opens this weekend in Italy and Italian-speaking Switzerland.
Cars 2 stands at $301.9m through Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International (WDSMPI) and Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is on $800.6m.
DreamWorks’ Fright Night begins its international roll-out through WDSMPI this weekend in Hungary and Israel.
