New Spain-based international sales consortium 6 Sales has hired Mar Abadin as its head of sales.

Abadin was formerly a sales executive at Filmax, where she worked for six years. She will attend Berlin's European Film Market with 6 Sales managing director Marina Fuentes.

'I've known Mar a long time and have always admired her professional skills and great attitude,' Fuentes said. 'She was the first choice for our team and we are lucky to have her.'

'I'm very happy to be joining 6 Sales' excellent team of professionals,' Abadin added. 'They are producing and representing beautiful films and this is an exciting new adventure and opportunity.'

6 Sales was launched last September by Fuentes, owner of Madrid-based producer Galba Productions and formerly with Lumina Films and Lolafilms, with partners Enrique Posner, former general manager of Warner Bros in Spain, and producers Manuel Cristobal, Ruben Zarauza and Maria Arochena of start-up Perro Verde Films.

Confirmed on 6 Sales' Berlin slate, which looks set to grow in the days ahead, are Raul Garcia and Manuel Sicilia's Noah's Lark; Eric Nicholas' Alone With Her; Paul Le Duc's Cobrador, In God We Trust; De Bares by Mario Iglesias; Antonio Hernandez's The Lesser Evil; and Alfonso Cuaron's first film from 1991, Solo Con Tu Pareja.
