The Match Factory has closed a raft of deals for key territories on Thomas Vinterberg’s Submarino, which screened in competition here in Berlin.
The hard-hitting drama has sold to France (MK2), Benelux (ABC Cinemien), Italy (Mikado), Spain (Golem), the former Yugoslavia and Japan (Bitters End), Taiwan (Atom Cinema) and Colombia (Babilla Cine).
Submarino, based on a novel by Jonas T Bengtsson, is the story of two brothers haunted by a tragic childhood. It was produced by Morten Kaufmann for Nimbus Film, with Birgitte Hald and Bo Ehrhardt executive producing.
