The Match Factory has sealed a number of deals for Wayne Wang's San Sebastian Golden Shell winner A Thousand Years of Good Prayers and the companion piece The Princess Of Nebraska with rights going to France (Diaphana), Spain (Karma Films), Switzerland (Cineworx), and Argentina (Primer Plano).
A Thousand Years Of Good Prayers had been pre-sold ahead of San Sebastian to Pandora Filmverleih for Germany and Austria and to Mikado for Italy.
In addition, the first deals were inked for Hans Weingartner's Reclaim Your Brain for France (ID Distribution), Switzerland (Pathe Monopole), and Brazil (Providence Films), with rights for Spain currently under negotiation.
Further deals were closed by The Match Factory with Poland's AP Manana for the 2006 Golden Shell winner Half Moon by Bahman Ghobadi and with Argentina's Primer Piano for Sven Taddicken's Emma's Bliss which won audience awards at festivals in the Hamptons, Paris, Seville and, most recently, in Milwaukee.
