Set at the turn of the century when Y2K scared the wits out of the nascent IT community, the story follows a deeply stressed programmer's increasing sexual attraction to his computer. The film stars Tyler Labine (the director's brother) as well as Sonja Bennett and Alisen Down.
The deal was brokered by producers Stephanie Symns and Lynne Stopkewich and Maximum's Charlotte Mickie and Bryan Gliserman.
'They really understand the film and have the most experience and best resources to properly back their commitment to us' said Symns in a statement. 'Maximum is the right company to help target our audience of anyone who's ever owned or leased a computer,' said Stopkewich. Mickie said the film was a marketing dream, with 'one hook after another'.
Control Alt Delete was developed and produced by Hard Drive Films. Backers include Telefilm Canada, Film Incentive BC and BC Film.
