Maya Entertainment, the Los Angeles-based production and distribution company, has acquired US rights to the crime drama La Linea (The Line) starring Andy Garcia, Ray Liotta and Esai Morales.
James Cotton directed the feature, which takes place in the Mexican border town of Tijuana as an assassin tracks down the brutal new head of a crime cartel.
Armand Assante, Joe Morton, Bruce Davison, Jason Connery, Michael DeLorenzo and Valerie Cruz also star. R Ellis Frazier wrote the screenplay and produced with Geoffrey G Ross.
Maya Entertainment executive vice-president Jose Martinez, Jr and Alex Raminfar negotiated the deal for Maya with Alexis Garcia of Endeavor on behalf of the producers.
The release date for the film will be announced shortly.
