New Nordic Films, the Nordic Film Market hosted by the Norwegian International Film Festival in Haugesund, has entered into an agreement with the EU MEDIA Programme for the next three years.
New Nordic Films will receive annual support of €55,000 as a result of the agreement.
“This is a great recognition of the Norwegian International Film Festival’s important role as a channel for Nordic cinema to the rest of Europe,” said Gyda Velvin Myklebust [pictured], Programme Director for New Nordic Films.
“With this support from the EU MEDIA programme we can invite more European buyers and festivalrepresentatives to Haugesund. This is an important contribution to our work to promote Nordic cinema to the outside world,” she continued.
“The support also gives us an opportunity to strengthen our platform for international co-operation for film production, New Nordic Films Co-production and Finance Market.”
