Kirsten Niehuus, executive director of the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg (MBB), has extended her contract until 2014.
Niehuus took up her position at MBB in November 2004 and during her tenure has already backed international projects including Roman Polanski’s The Ghost Writer, Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds and Benedek Fliegauf’s Womb, which all shot in the Berlin-Brandenburg region last year.
Before coming to MBB, Niehuus, a qualified lawyer, served as legal counsel at Senator Film and the German Federal Film Board (FFA) becoming deputy to the FFA’s chief executive Rolf Bähr from 1999.
