New entry Matrimonio Alle Bahamas opened to number eight on the chart with a $4.4m take from 431 sites in its home territory. The romantic comedy, which is the highest non-US entry in this weekend's chart, boasted the third highest screen average at $10,230 and beat Beowulf to the top slot in the Italian box office. It stars local favourite Massimo Boldi, who previously worked alongside Christian De Sica in the Christmas In franchise.
Come Tu Mi Vuoi fell a modest 26% and stayed within the top 20 with a $2.6m take from 367 screens. The comedy, written and directed by Volfango Di Biasi, enjoyed a $7,148 screen average and has grossed $7.3m to date in Italy alone.
Filipino film One More Chance catapulted into the top 30 with a bang, taking this weekend's highest screen average by a long run. The romantic drama generated $1.5m from just 70 screens in its home territory for a whopping $21,398 screen average. It is released through Star Cinema and follows the painful break up of two young lovers who met at university. It stars John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo and is directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina.
Indian cinema continues to hold its ground in the international arena - last week's top two films - Om Shanti Om and Saawariya - generated nearly $10m in their second weekends, accounting for 7.4% of the total top 40 revenue.
Eros International's Om Shanti Om fell 62% to number four over the weekend with a $6.3m take. The romance played across 1,244 screens in 17 territories for a $5,063 screen average. It has a $25.6m tally to date.
And Sony Pictures Releasing International (SPRI)'s first Indian production Saawariya fell 65% to number 10 in its second weekend. The romantic drama, with Bollywood star Salman Khan took $3.7m from 822 screens for a $4,521 screen average. It has generated more than $17m to date.
New South Korean thriller Seven Days opened to number 25 this weekend with a $1.8m take across 300 screens. The film, directed by Won Shin-Yeon and released through Prime Entertainment, had a $6,153 screen average over the weekend. It boasts a $2.5m tally in its home territory after previewing last weekend across 50 screens.
Le Grand Chef, South Korea's second film in the chart this weekend, fell 23% to number 16. The drama, distributed by CJ Entertainment, generated nearly $2.9m from 330 screens in its third weekend for an $8,674 screen average. It has a $13.65m running total and has yet to open outside of South Korea.
Turkish film Beyaz Melek made the top 40 this weekend as it opened with a $1.3m take. The family drama, directed by Mahsun Kirmizgul played across 240 screens in four territories for a $5,452 screen average. It follows the story of an old, sick man who flees the hospital because he is worried that he has become a burden to his family. It is released through Boyut Film.
Four Japanese films accounted for more than 6.1% of the chart's total gross, generating a collective $8.3m. Toho's Sky Of Love boasted the second highest screen average at the weekend at $10,616. The romantic drama fell 23% over the three-day period, taking $3.1m across 289 screens. It has generated $17.8m after three weekends on release.
Toho enjoyed another top 20 hit with Always: Sunset On Third Street 2, which took $2.6m from 382 screens for a $6,910 screen average. The drama is just on the verge of reaching the $20m mark after three weekends.
And Crows: Episode 0 is still going strong in its fourth weekend, falling by a modest 28%. The action adventure, also distributed by Toho, grossed $1.4m across 259 screens over the weekend. Meanwhile, Toei Animation's Yes! Pretty Cure 5 dropped 24% to number 35 with a $1.2m take on 137 screens.
Elsewhere, Warner Bros' Beowulf came up trumps with a $17.4m take from 2,432 screens in its opening weekend. Universal Pictures International (UPI)/UIP's American Gangster trailed just behind with a $14.3m take across 1,477 screens for a $9,682 screen average. And Fox International's Die Hard 4.0 re-entered the chart with a $1.2m weekend take after opening in China.
The top 40 international films generated $136m from 37,068 screens for the period of November 16-18 and were down 13% compared to last weekend.
