UK distributor sees 53% rise in revenue
The UK’s Metrodome Group has announced its preliminary results for the year ended 31 December 2010, with revenue up 53% to £13.9m from £9.1m in 2009. Headline operating profit was £747,000, up 205% on 2009’s £245,000.
Last year Metrodome completed the acquisition of international TV and licensing rights management business Target Entertainment and distributed three of the top 10 foreign language box office performers including The Secret In Their Eyes and I Am Love.
Metrodome also signed a non-exclusive deal with Apple’s iTunes and reports significant growth in video-on-demand.
The company says it is continuing to actively seek suitable company acquisitions and opportunities for growth.
“I am pleased to announce a strong set of results which demonstrate Metrodome’s development as a fully integrated rights management and distribution business,” said Mark Webster, executive chairman of Metrodome. “I am pleased we have met our strategic and performance objectives for 2010 and feel confident we have a strong platform for growth in 2011.”
