Joint sales venture Metropolis International Sales and Timeless Films have added two new titles to their current slate of films for the European Film Market at the Berlinale.
Phil Traill’s romantic teen comedy The Chalet Girl stars Felicity Jones, Ed Westwick (pictured), Tamsin Egerton, Christine Baranski and Bill Nighy. Written by Tom Williams and produced by Pippa Cross and Harriet Rees, the film is about a working class girl who finds herself in a glamourous ski resort and discovers her inner snowboarding genius as well as a taste for her boss’s son. Roxy/Quicksilver are providing the branding for the film.
The other new title is Taxi Wars from director Anthony Hoffman starring Djimon Hounsou, Forest Whitaker and Ray Winstone.
Produced by Lucas Foster and Brian LaRoda, it is a political action thriller about a former member of the military wing of South Africa’s anti-apartheid movement who is hired to kill the warring leaders of the country’s long standing taxicab wars.
Both titles come under the Metropolis banner. Meanwhile, amongst the Timeless titles featuring at EFM will be Space Chimps 2: Zartog Strikes Back, German box office hit Wickie The Mighty Viking, Animals United and Postman Pat.
The Metropolis/Timeless Films venture was launched in the UK in September 2009 by vsales executive Ralph Kamp, formerly head of Odyssey, and Tim Smith, Managing Director of Prescience.
