Mike Goodridge, Screen International’s US editor, is to return to London to take up the editor’s chair of Screen.
Goodridge, currently based in Los Angeles, will take over as editor of Screen International and ScreenDaily from October. He has been based in LA for 12 years and will return to the UK early next year.
In his new role he will report to Conor Dignam, group editor of Emap’s media titles, which includes Screen International, Broadcast and Shots.
Dignam said: “Mike is one of the most respected and knowledgeable film journalists in the business. He has an unrivalled knowledge of the industry and passion for film. He has done a fantastic job for us in LA, but I’m delighted he has accepted the offer to return to London to edit the title.”
Goodridge has overseen North American coverage on Screen since 1997 but has also been a familiar face on the world festival circuit. He recently served a two-year stint as vice-president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and is a member of the Los Angeles Film Critics Association.
He said: “I am excited to be returning to London to take up the reins at Screen at a time when the film business is going through such an exciting and tumultuous period of change. I look forward to working with Conor and everyone on the Screen team in continuing to address the needs of the global industry.”
