Mission Pictures International and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions division Affirm Films are introducing buyers at AFM to Beverly Lewis’ original Hallmark production The Shunning.
The film is based on Lewis’ novel of the same name and will star Danielle Panabaker and Sherry Stringfeld. Michael Landon Jr is directing the story of a young woman who discovers her identity and comes to peace with her parents’ faith.
Landon will serve as executive producer in association with Brian Bird, Maura Dunbar and Mission Pictures International’s co-head Cindy Bond, Believe Pictures and Lightworks Pictures. Production is set to begin in North Carolina on November 8.
“The Shunning encompasses the essence of the Mission Pictures brand,” Bond and Mission co-head Chevonne O’Shaughnessy said:. “We have found a synergy with our partners at Hallmark and Affirm Films, not to mention the talents and pedigree of Michael Landon Jr.”
