MK2 has signed a distribution output deal with Israeli distributor Orlando Films.
The first films to be released through the deal will be Belgian Oscar entry The Misfortunates and The Answer Man, starring Jeff Daniels and Lauren Graham.
The deal, brokered by Juliette Schrameck, sales and acquisitions executive at MK2 and Oded Horowitz, general manager of Orlando, will cover MK2’s current and coming titles as well as its extensive catalogue.
Orlando will release through all platforms including its own new VOD site as well as Israel’s existing platforms from theatrical releases to PayTV, video on demand on TV, FreeTV and DVD.
“I am very proud to have made this deal with MK2, a company that has been the symbol of quality since back when I was a teenager. MK2 has a great variety of titles in its catalogue, ranging from mainstream to arthouse.” says Oded Horowitz.
Orlando Films has a catalogue of more than 500 films and distributes a wide variety of content. Orlando’s recent line-up includes such titles as Gomorra, Ponyo On The Cliff, and Seraphine as well as the forthcoming The Extra Man by Shari Springer Berman, and Julio Medem’s Room In Rome (pictured).
