Momentum Pictures has picked up Steven Soderbergh’s action thriller Knockout, and Marcus Nispel’s $100m action-adventure Conan for distribution in Spain through its sister company Aurum.
Momentum sealed the deal with Mandate International for Soderbergh’s Knockout, which stars Gina Carano as a female agent sent on a couple of undercover missions in Spain and Ireland, but who is double crossed and struggles to make her way back to the US.
Currently in production, the film is being backed by Relativity Media with Lionsgate holding US rights. Ewan McGregor, Michael Fassbender, Michael Douglas and Antonio Banderas all co-star.
Nispel’s Conan, currently in pre-production, was bought for release in Spain from Nu Image, who are co-producing the film with Lionsgate and Paradox Entertainment with backing from Millennium Films.
The film will follow the adventures of Conan The Cimmerian, to be played by Jason Momoa, as he treks across the continent of Hyboria. Mickey Rourke is in negotiations to play Conan’s father.
