Next year's Montreal World Film Festival will pay tribute to French actress Isabelle Adjani. Making the announcement, MWFF president Serge Losique deemed Ms. Adjani 'an extraordinary artist, an actress who is equally at home in transforming herself into her films' profound and exceptional characters or playing seemingly light roles with an expert touch.'
Despite this year's brouhaha, when changes in the festival's dates resulted in scheduling conflicts with festivals in Venice and Toronto, the MWFF has maintained its appeal for international talent. Martin Scorsese accepted the honour at this year's event, Sophia Loren the year before that.
The dates for the 2004 edition will revert to that of previous years: August 26 to September 6.
