The Montreal World Film Festival will spotlight filmmaking from Bavaria at its upcoming 32nd edition. Festival president Serge Losique told Screendaily it was too early to announce any titles.
A major delegation of Bavaria-based producers and filmmakers along with representatives of regional funding agency FFF Bayern will attend the event, headed by the German state's media minister Eberhard Sinner. The festival runs from August 21 to September 1, 2008.
FFF Bayern managing director Dr. Klaus Schaefer said in a statement, 'We are glad that we can, in this manner, enrich the many-sided friendship between Quebec and Bavaria which has been existing for many years. I will keep my fingers crossed that many new projects will emerge from this meeting of film professionals from Quebec and Bavaria.'
