Several further countries have announced their Foreign Language Oscar submissions.
Bulgaria has put forward youth generation story Tilt [pictured] directed by Viktor Chouchkov Jr. (and produced by his brother Borislav Chouchkov).
Representing Colombia will be Carlos Cesar Arbelaez’s feature debut The Colors of the Mountain.
From Belgium, Michaël R. Roskam’s Bullhead will enter the race. That film, which premiered at Berlin, is a dark drama set in the world of agricultural hormone trafficking.
And from Russia, the pick is Nikita Michalkov’s Burnt by the Sun 2 (Citadel).
From Morocco, Roshdy Zem’s Omar Killed Me will be the entrant. Sami Bouajila stars as a gardener convicted of murdering the elderly woman he worked for in the South of France.
From Venezuela, the submission is The Rumble of the Stones (El Rumor de las piedras) from writer-director Alejandro Bellame. That story is about a single mother who tries to save her son from gang violence.
And representing Romania is Marian Crisan’s Morgen, about a Romanian-Hungarian security guard and a Kurdish illegal immigrant who needs help to cross the border.
