SilvioOrlando, Margherita Buy and Jasmine Trinca have joined the cast of NanniMoretti's new film, Il Caimano.
It is the first film in five years for Italy's formerenfant terrible, who will start shooting the picture on May 23.
The movie is inspired by Italian premier SilvioBerlusconi, and its title, Il Caimano (The Caiman) is allegedly areference to an article in the left-leaning La Repubblica newspaper, whichdescribed conservative Berlusconi as a caiman, a South American alligator-likereptile.
It will bethe first time Moretti, who won the Palme d'Or in 2001 for The Son's Room,does not star in one of his own movies.
Orlando,whose credits include The Son's Room (which also starred Trinca) and theOscar-nominated Not of this World, will play the role of Berlusconi.
Thepicture is produced by Angelo Barbagallo and Moretti's Sacher film. The storywas written by Heidrun Schleef (The Son's Room) and Moretti, while thescript was penned by Moretti, Francesco Piccolo and Federica Pontremoli.
The film is scheduled for release in March 2006.
