Anant Singh's Videovision has announced that South African comedy Mr.Bones which smashed all box office records for a local film in South Africa, will be distributed by Constantin Films in Germany with a release of 400 prints across the territory.
Sanjeev Singh, head of distribution at the company, says, "It shows that they have a lot of faith in the movie being commercial and going big." The Singh brothers' Distant Horizon were the producers and financiers of the film that set an unprecedented revenue record for local comic Leon Schuster's consistently lucrative South African farces.
Bones, which was launched on the international marketplace at the AFM, is also set for a release in Japan and other Asian territories with deals still to be confirmed.
