4 Months, 3 Weeks & 2 Days picked up nine of the 17 awards handed out at the second annual Gopo Awards in Bucharest March 3.

The Palm d'Or-winning abortion drama was named Best Film and earned Best Director for Cristian Mungiu, Best Actress for Anamaria Marinca, Best Supporting Actress for Laura Vasiliu, Best Supporting Actor for Vlad Ivanov, and Best Cinematography for Oleg Mutu. The film also won awards for its sound and scenography and was given the Public Audience Award.

California Dreamin' (Endless) from the late director Cristian Nemescu, won Best Actor, Best Editing, Best Screenplay, Best Costumes and the Young Hope of the Year Prize for script co-writer Tudor Voican.

The Best Documentary award went to Alexandru Solomon's Cold Waves, about the role Free Europe Radio played during the Ceausescu regime.
