NancySilverstone has been promoted to vice president, program acquisitions, at StarzEncore Group where she will be responsible for negotiating licensing deals withindependents and studios for first-run and library titles, library buyouts,documentary co-productions, STARZ! Pictures premieres, restoration deals andoverseeing the acquisitions budget and managing the multi-cultural acquisitionsand film evaluation departments. She was formerly executive director, programacquisitions.
Silverstone hasbeen at Starz Encore for four and a half years and assisted in the acquisitionsof The Badge starringBilly Bob Thornton, world premiere documentary My Generation directed by Barbara Kopple and thethree-part documentary series That's Black Entertainment for BLACK STARZ!
Prior to joiningStarz Encore, she was manager of film programming at HBO where she licensedtitles for HBO channels in Asia, Latin America and Central Europe. She startedher career at Fox Lorber in international sales and marketing.
