The National Film Board ofCanada has appointed Ravida Din as executive producer of the Quebec Centre andMichelle van Beusekom as assistant director general of English Programming.
Din was previously assistantdirector general for English programming and was associate producer on themulti-award winning NFB title The Tree That Remembers. In her new role, Din will manage a programme ofdocumentary, interactive, children's films and community engagement projects.
Van Beusekom comes to theNFB from the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. where she was manager of programdevelopment for Central Canada. Her new position entails establishing thedirection and planning of the English Program's operations and activities.
In a statement, TomPerlmutter, director general of the NFB's English Program Branch said, 'Asthe NFB continues to break new ground in its programming, it is important tohave strong, talented managers with an understanding of the Canadian mediaindustry and the distinctive role of the NFB within that industry. Ravida andMichelle bring a wide range of skills and abilities to English Program thatwill only strengthen the NFB."
