Munich production house ndF: and sales agent Beta Film have joined forces to launch a new venture that will produce feature films for the children’s and youth sector.
Wunderwerk already has a number of productions slated including a second animation feature film based on Princess Lillifee, an animated film version of Mozart’s The Magic Flute, and a 3D animation film of Dietrich Grönemeyer’s bestseller The Little Medic, which takes young viewers on a journey into the human body. All films will be distributed internationally by Beta Film under its new label, Wunderbox.
The company will be led by ndF: head of children’s and youth producer Frank Piscator. It is also planning a number of TV series, including an animation based on Joachim Masannek’s film franchise The Wild Soccer Bunch.
Commenting on the new venture Piscator said: “Thanks to Beta’s international network, we will be in an even better position to offer our broadcasting and production partners financing and production concepts for large and exceptional
projects in the future.”
Wunderwerk also plans to enter into partnerships and productions with partners including CaligariFilm, Family Pictures, BlueEyes, Zeitsprung, and Trikk17, among others.
Apart from handling Wunderwerk’s productions, the Wunderbox label will also take on international distribution of films and series by third partners.
